Big John rescued May 11th 2024
It saddens us how this big beautiful gelding was dumped at auction because he couldn’t perform his duties as a ranch horse anymore !
But that doesn’t stop John from being a good trail horse .

Pros : He’s young (8-9)
            He’s in good weight ( A kill buyers dream because he wasn’t sick or underweight )
            He is a good kind gentle soul that just needs that loving hand
            He still has many years to give someone that special gift of love ❤️

Cons:  He has a soft tissue damage we got him x rayed by a donors request  we are forever  grateful for that donor that helped with the x ray cost !
The good news is that he can still be a great trail horse for someone .
We believe with the right care and a little bit of maintenance he will give his new adopter many years of pleasure riding
But it’s going to take that little bit extra .
Right now he’s on Prevcox which has helped him out greatly.
Will he need to stay on this ?
Possibly not there are many other options such as hot and cold packs , injections or natural supplements.
We just find it easier to give him the previcox
                 
Being a ranch horse he can be a little
Watchy on the ground may snort a little and turn his head from you but he’s doing so much better with daily treats it’s amazing that a working horse can turn into a loving horse!!
It’s not his fault he was trained as a get on and go kind of guy do your job or your out .

Big John looking for that forever home that will give him the love and attention needed
We have included his x ray results and know that this horse can be adoptable

We know there is someone somewhere that can give him a forever place in their hearts
We paid 2k for him at auction plus fees
And 1,150 in after care so we simply cannot just give him away .
Donations are at their all time low and we rely on adoptions to operate .
That being said his adoption fee is $1,500.

Alternitive - If you would like to see Big John stay with us in santuary for rehab his sponsor fee will be $500 per month this will cover his daily care and his medication
